Finally a New Post!

Okay, okay so it has been way too long since the last post and I apologize to those avid readers. (Pop & Granna)

So, where do I start? KATE IS A TODDLER!!!! She is too cute for her own good. How in the world can you discipline your child when she is looking so cute being bad?!? I just want to roll on the floor laughing, but instead I have to break out the serious mom face. Kate’s vocabulary is growing everyday. When we get in the car she tells me it is hot, when we pull into the carport she tells me we are home, when we get out of the car she shows me where Bosco is and when I tell her no she points her finger and says no right back. She is little Miss Sassy Pants.
This past weekend Kate got to go swimming for the first time in a pool and then the very next day got to swim in a lake. She loved playing in the water and playing in the sand. She pretty much loves anything that has to do with being outside. Of course I forgot my camera for both water experiences, but I have some below of her first play day in her kiddy pool we bought for her over the Memorial Day weekend. She wasn’t so excited about getting into that cold water, but Kory sucked it up and got right on in there with her. (It was cold!)
Kate truly is just growing like a weed. I know all ya’ll want to see is pictures so here you go.

Couple of pics

Couple of pictures from my iPhone.
I know, I know…. I need to make a real post.

Pictures!!!

I finally found my camera and so I am posting all the pictures that were on it going back to the beginning of February. You can really tell how much she has grown the past couple of months. Newest to oldest…top to bottom. Enjoy!

Big Girl Carseat

Kate’s first ride in her front facing carseat. I guess it must be comfy since she fell asleep. :)

First Day in 1 Year Old Class

Of course we knew she was a great child, but daycare confirms it too! ;)
When I picked her up this evening her teachers said that she did great. They said that most kids cry all day on their first day, so they were anxious to see how she did, but she did not cry at all. They said she was really laid back and just did great and they really enjoyed her. Yay! I guess I should relax a little now. :)

A Few Stories

I have a few funny stories I just had to put down before I forgot.

First, Kate spent the night with my parents (Missy & Pop) on Friday night with her cousin Lila. Kate must really be having a growth spurt right now because all she wants to do is eat. She is constantly signing “more” which is her indication that she wants to eat or drink, but usually eat. Well Pop experienced that first hand Friday night and Saturday. Saturday afternoon we all went to the park. Kory, Kate and I got there before Missy, Pop and Lila, so I was telling my dad that Kate got to swing, slide and even see-saw and never once seemed impressed. Pop in turn said “of course she is not impressed with the park there is no concession stand, cotton candy or anything to eat!” Kate is getting a bad rap these days….we think she may start oinking at any time. ;) We really are just glad she is eating!

I told myself I was not going to share this the first time it happened, but the second time in a row was too much so I just need to put this down for documentation so Kate can never deny it. It would be pooping in the bathtub….two nights in a row she has done this to me!!! And for the record I don’t mind changing her dirty diapers, but poop in the tub is really pushing my limits. ;) Kory soooo gets called in for backup!

Story 3: Our little girl really is growing up. Now that she is finally drinking out of her sippy cup, she loves filling her mouth up with her milk or water and the just spraying it everywhere. So, today she was in the living room playing and she was drinking milk in her sippy when she did her usual spray. She got it all over her and the carpet. Kory and I were watching tv, and next thing we see she has gotten a dishtowel off the ottoman and it wiping herself off and wiping the carpet. I was shocked and Kory now thinks daycare is using her as slave labor. Really, this may totally have been a huge coincidence, but how did she pick up on that!?! For the record we really don’t think she is having to clean at daycare ;)

Oh yeah, she is moving up the 1 year old room tomorrow. She visited it Wed-Fri of last week and they said she did good. Things will be changing, she will be eating out the kitchen, no more bottles and no more pacifier, sleeping on a mat. We will see how this week goes…I am thinking it may be harder on me that Kate.

Just as a side note, I still can’t find my camera so I am relying on Kory for pictures now. He took some at the park yesterday maybe they will get put up soon.

Walking!

Maybe this will appease the masses!

Time to Post

I was just checking out the videos that Kory has posted recently and realized that I had not posted lately. So I thought I needed to update on the current things going on with Kate.

This morning she started walking!!! Yeah, I mean more that a few steps. Kory got it on video and hopefully will post soon. I am not sure she is going to use that as her preferred method of transportation, but I know she can do it, so we may be more apt to let go of the hand more often.
Kate was sick this past week with hand, foot and mouth “disease” and so she got to stay home all week….she is going to be in for a shock next week when she goes back to daycare. I am very excited to say Kate is finally feeling better and is back to herself again, for the most part. I truly had no idea that could be so bad, poor little thing had ulcers all in her mouth. :(
I am going to admit that I am a terrible mom and did not take Kate to play out in the snow…..what in the world was I supposed to dress her in and it was really cold!?! :) She however did get to look out the window at the blanket of white and cheesed it up.
Have I mentioned lately what a cutie she is? Our little toddler is soooo precious! She is growing up a little more every day and just like when she was a baby I can still tell that she is going to be quite the opinionated little girl.
Sorry I do not have any pictures to post. I can’t find my camera and I am not so sure there is anything on it if I could.
I am really hoping to take her 1 year old pictures soon, gotta stay healthy and warm up a little.
Oh yeah, and I am pretty sure her 1 year measurement is not right. I tried to get it this morning and I am thinking she is really between 27-28 inches tall.
