27 Week Update

Posted by on November 19, 2008

27 Weeks, here we are.  Every day we are one step closer to being a family of 5 rather than 4… okay, okay a family of 3 with  2 legs.  Wow!  This evening Kory and I unboxed and put together Kate’s car seat and stroller.  Okay, maybe Kory unboxed and put together while Bosco and I supervised. :)   Then we pushed it around the house and practiced breaking it down, taking the car seat in and out of it.  Yeah, I think I smashed the imaginary baby’s head a couple of times Kory eagerly pointed out…. I suggested that we get a baby doll to do all of our practicing with.  Gracie and Bosco got to sniff out the car seat and stroller, we will see what happens when Kate is added to them.

Kate’s room is starting to fill up with things that are Kate’s, not ours!  Maybe, just maybe we can get it painted and furniture delivered within the next two weeks.  HINT! HINT!

Today, something new happened.  As I was standing talking with Aarin after work she said “Is that you breathing or Kate kicking?”  I said I guess it could be either, but I did not feel any big kicks.  So I looked down and it was not me breathing that Aarin was seeing, it looked like Kate was swinging from side to side!!  Aarin started laughing and saying yeah I don’t think you breathe from side to side that is definitly her moving!  I had started being able to notice her movements from the outside last week, but it was only stronger kicks, not today though… maybe she was practicing flipping from side to side.  It was pretty cool!!

I have had some requests for more pictures, so I will get with Kory this week about getting some posted.  Sorry, I don’t know how to do it myself!
