Well we Laura had her doctors appointment yesterday. I think the doctor’s exact words were, “I think we have something happening here”. Laura was still 1cm dilated but had progressed to 80% effaced.
Laura has been having excruciating pain in her left shoulder. We don’t know why it’s hurting her, but the only guess we’ve come up with the that Kate is laying on a nerve or something. It has been so bad, she has been unable to sleep more than an hour or so at a time for over a week. I know Kate will keep us both up when she is born, but at least I can try to share that load. With her shoulder, all I can do is wince and hope she gets some rest.
Her swelling has been getting worse as well. Poor thing comes home and immediately has to put her feet up before they explode.
Add to the mix that Dr. Sheppard will be out of town for about 5 days beginning Wednesday of next week, and we decided the best thing would be induction.
So, long story short, we will be admitted to St. Francis Sunday at midnight and Kate’s birthday should be Febuary 2, 2009 (lucky guess Pop), provided she doesn’t show up earlier.
