I was just checking out the videos that Kory has posted recently and realized that I had not posted lately. So I thought I needed to update on the current things going on with Kate.

This morning she started walking!!! Yeah, I mean more that a few steps. Kory got it on video and hopefully will post soon. I am not sure she is going to use that as her preferred method of transportation, but I know she can do it, so we may be more apt to let go of the hand more often.
Kate was sick this past week with hand, foot and mouth “disease” and so she got to stay home all week….she is going to be in for a shock next week when she goes back to daycare. I am very excited to say Kate is finally feeling better and is back to herself again, for the most part. I truly had no idea that could be so bad, poor little thing had ulcers all in her mouth.
I am going to admit that I am a terrible mom and did not take Kate to play out in the snow…..what in the world was I supposed to dress her in and it was really cold!?! She however did get to look out the window at the blanket of white and cheesed it up.
Have I mentioned lately what a cutie she is? Our little toddler is soooo precious! She is growing up a little more every day and just like when she was a baby I can still tell that she is going to be quite the opinionated little girl.
Sorry I do not have any pictures to post. I can’t find my camera and I am not so sure there is anything on it if I could.
I am really hoping to take her 1 year old pictures soon, gotta stay healthy and warm up a little.
Oh yeah, and I am pretty sure her 1 year measurement is not right. I tried to get it this morning and I am thinking she is really between 27-28 inches tall.

Our little girl is officially a toddler today.  WOW!!  1 year ago today Kory and I were wondering if we would ever sleep again   No really I think we were thinking we were the most blessed people in the world!

One year, I can not believe it at all.  From the sleepless nights to the morning snuggles I am thankful for everything our precious little one has given us this past year.  I think I can definitely say now that Kate may look like her Daddy, but she has her mama in her!  She is becoming more and more opinionated every day and will let you know if you get it right or wrong.  She is cruising around on anything she can hold onto and will take a couple of steps on her own.  She has also graduated from baby food to table food.  We are working on moving up to a big girl sippie, but that is not going over very well. (suggestions welcome)  Kate’s vocabulary now consists of: Mama, Dada, variations of Duck and Dog, and lots of Uh-Ohs.  These days she is giving kisses, blowing kisses, and cheering the Saints to victory.  Oh, and according the her teacher she says thank you and recognizes and says the color blue….. I knew I birthed a genius!  (I think maybe she is exaggerating a bit)

We go for her 1 year Wellness on Friday and her shots on Saturday, so I should have an update on her height and weight then.  I will just tell you she is getting heavy!

A huge thanks to everyone that made Kate’s first birthday special.  We really enjoyed having family around yesterday to kick off her birthday celebration!

We had our first family trip this past weekend and Kate had many, many first that went along with it.  I am just going to go ahead and warn you there are not going to be any pictures with this post because I failed to take a single picture over the long weekend…Kory will have to post some that he got.

We got the opportunity to go to Dallas this past weekend along with all of my family on my mom’s side.  My Aunt and Cousins from California came down because they played in a hockey tournament and we all went to visit them.  The following is a list of all of Kate’s firsts (I tried to put them in sequential order):

1. First road trip (slept all the way there 7pm – 12am)
2. First hotel stay
3. First time to throw up in a hotel
4. First time to throw up at the breakfast buffet of a hotel
5. First time to visit a hockey rink (missed the game)
6. First time to meet Aunt Cindy and Cousins Ciaran & Aidan
7. First time to go to the Galeria
8. First time to have picture taken in a actual studio
9. First time to throw up during photo session in studio
10. First time to throw up in trash can at photo studio
11. First time to see Saints win a playoff game
12. Experience first hockey game
13. First time to have mean little boy kick toys
14. First time to experience a fire alarm go off (during the middle of the night)
15. First time to poop and pee on daddy in public
16. First time to wear clothes washed at a Laundry-mat
17. First time to throw up in a Olive Garden
18. First time to poop so much it came out every hole in diaper and leaked threw 3 layers of clothes.
19. First time to stay in executive suite (upgrade due to fire alarm and broken air)
20. First trip to Tyler, TX.
21. First time to play in Toys R Us and pick out first birthday presents!
22. We think she may have even had her first “step/steps” when we got home.

Many of you may see a recurring theme here?!?  Yes, we had a very adventurous first family trip, but we all really enjoyed getting to spend time with family.  Hopefully Kory will post some pictures soon.

Kate’s first birthday is only 12 days away!!!! :O  (I am not ready)
