your child recognizes the Johnny’s Pizza box??
“pitza, pitza!”
Is it a milestone when….
Quick update
A story or two….
I may be able to scrounge up a couple of pictures to add to this post, but I mostly wanted to talk about our sweet little girl and how she is growing up.
She is now stomping her feet when she does not get what she wants. I know, I know this is not good, but it really is pretty dang funny! Yesterday morning she stomped her feet all the way to the car because I would not put a bow in her hair that did not match her outfit. I did however find her a bow that did and she carried it around stomping, but told me NO! when I tried to put it in her hair. Do the terrible 2s really last from 1 to 3?
She apparently has sympathy pains for Kory and me if we get hurt. I stumped my toe the other night and then she pointed at my toe and then wanted both Kory and I to kiss HER toe to make it all better!
I am thinking there might be a little neat freak inside her. When she helps feed the dogs, if she spills any of the food she gets really upset and has to pick each kibble up piece by piece. And if something spills or sees that Gracie or Bosco have made a mess, she wants a towel to wipe it up.
On a medical note, she will probably be getting tubes in the next few weeks. We have been battling ear infection after ear infection, so I hope some relief will come soon for all of us. She is up to 27 pounds these days….she is quite the chunky monkey!
Her favorite foods these days consist of green beans, oatmeal and is there really anything else?
Oh yeah, chocolate milk!!! Yes, I said chocolate milk. At her last check-up, the doc told me she was not taking in the proper amount of milk per day, so she said flavor it…do what you gotta do to get her to drink it. Hence the chocolate milk for breakfast and dinner!!! Chocolate is now in her vocabulary (literally)….isn’t it a little early for that!?! ![]()
She is moving up on Monday to the 18-24 month old class. No more paci at naptime and she will get to make potty trips! I wonder if they have a cute little kid potty…
And about potty training, yeah, yeah I know she is still really young but it was her idea!! We will be spending Labor Day weekend potty training. She has already been using her potty at home about 25% of the time and she tells you when she has to potty. Thursday she used the potty for ALL of her pottying needs while she was at home. I am so proud of her and would not have even considered potty training this early but she seems to want to get out of those diapers. I will let you know how next weekend goes.
Kate is quite the social being and misses all of her friends and family when they are not around. Kory and I have spell just about everyone’s name that Kate knows when we talk about them in front of her. We have had numerous meltdowns triggered by Kate seeing someone’s (especially Noah) picture or saying a name (like Lila). This past week she started asking for her teacher at daycare. I am a little concerned about her changing teachers, she has become quite attached to Ms. Hannah. These days all you have to do is tell her we are going to see “Name” and she is up and beating on the door to go get in the car. Mom/Dad, I love you but….. see you later!
I think I have babbled on enough. Let me see if I can find some pics.
Pictures!!!!
To all of you that avidly check the blog for updates, I am sorry for the delay. I would like to say I will be better in the future, but I don’t want to lie. Truth is I would like to update more often, but at the end of a long day I don’t want to fight with the computer to make a post…. and yes, I mean fight. Technology HATES me!!! Well you don’t check the site to hear me gripe about the world out to get me, so here are some pictures that span the time since the last post. Enjoy!!!
Okay, so I will admit I used Kory’s computer this time and it was very quick and simple….maybe more blogs will be in the near future including stories and pictures
Finally a New Post!
Okay, okay so it has been way too long since the last post and I apologize to those avid readers. (Pop & Granna)
So, where do I start? KATE IS A TODDLER!!!! She is too cute for her own good. How in the world can you discipline your child when she is looking so cute being bad?!? I just want to roll on the floor laughing, but instead I have to break out the serious mom face. Kate’s vocabulary is growing everyday. When we get in the car she tells me it is hot, when we pull into the carport she tells me we are home, when we get out of the car she shows me where Bosco is and when I tell her no she points her finger and says no right back. She is little Miss Sassy Pants.
This past weekend Kate got to go swimming for the first time in a pool and then the very next day got to swim in a lake. She loved playing in the water and playing in the sand. She pretty much loves anything that has to do with being outside. Of course I forgot my camera for both water experiences, but I have some below of her first play day in her kiddy pool we bought for her over the Memorial Day weekend. She wasn’t so excited about getting into that cold water, but Kory sucked it up and got right on in there with her. (It was cold!)
Kate truly is just growing like a weed. I know all ya’ll want to see is pictures so here you go.
Couple of pics
Pictures!!!
I finally found my camera and so I am posting all the pictures that were on it going back to the beginning of February. You can really tell how much she has grown the past couple of months. Newest to oldest…top to bottom. Enjoy!
Big Girl Carseat
First Day in 1 Year Old Class
Of course we knew she was a great child, but daycare confirms it too! ![]()
When I picked her up this evening her teachers said that she did great. They said that most kids cry all day on their first day, so they were anxious to see how she did, but she did not cry at all. They said she was really laid back and just did great and they really enjoyed her. Yay! I guess I should relax a little now.
